BulkVerify turns a raw email list into clean, separated result files. Here is exactly what happens, step by step.
1. Create an account
Sign up with your first name, last name and email address. Accounts are free and personal.
2. Verify your email address
We send you a confirmation link. Only verified accounts can upload lists — this keeps the service free of automated abuse.
3. Select a list category
Before uploading, choose the category that best describes your list (for example E-commerce, Finance or Education). The category helps us keep statistics organized; it does not change how addresses are checked.
4. Upload a TXT or CSV file
- TXT: put one email address per line and save the file as plain text.
- CSV: any column layout works — you choose the email column in the next step.
There is no limit on how many emails a list contains. Large files are uploaded in parts automatically. Only TXT and CSV files are accepted; every file is checked on our server before processing.
5. Choose the email column (CSV only)
We show you the columns and a preview of the first rows and ask which column contains the email addresses. We detect the separator (comma, semicolon, tab or pipe) and the header row automatically, and suggest the most likely column.
6. Normalize and remove duplicates
Each value is cleaned: leading and trailing spaces, line-ending differences, byte-order marks, surrounding quotes and “Name <email>” wrappers are removed, and the address is lower-cased. [email protected], [email protected] and [email protected] become the same address. Duplicates are counted, saved to a separate file and never count toward your daily limit.
7. Verification checks
Each unique address goes through:
- Syntax validation — missing parts, multiple @ symbols, misplaced dots, malformed domains.
- Character checks — spaces, control characters, invisible characters and broken encoding.
- Domain validation — including internationalized domains (IDN) converted to Punycode.
- DNS and MX lookup — does the domain exist and is it set up to receive email?
- Disposable detection — known temporary-inbox services.
- Free-provider tagging — Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, Proton and others.
We verify 200,000 unique addresses per account per day. If your list is larger, the rest continues automatically after 00:00 UTC. You can close your browser at any time and follow the real progress on your dashboard; we email you when the job is complete.
8. Download your results
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Valid | Well-formed, not disposable, and the domain has mail (MX) records. |
| Invalid | The domain doesn’t exist or explicitly refuses email. |
| No MX | The domain exists but has no mail servers. |
| Syntax Error | The address is malformed or contains invalid characters. |
| Disposable | A temporary or throwaway inbox service. |
| Risky | Technically possible but uncertain, e.g. a domain without MX records that only has an address record. |
| Unknown | DNS could not be checked reliably at the time. |
| Free Provider | A tag, not a failure: the address belongs to a free mailbox provider. |
You get separate TXT files for valid, invalid, free-provider, disposable, risky/unknown and duplicate emails, plus a full CSV report with the status, reason, domain and MX status of every address. Files remain downloadable for 24 hours after the job is completed.
